Laminates

Laminates are a less expensive alternative to wood, whilst retaining the fantastic aesthetic appeal of the real thing. In addition to the reduced cost benefit, it is possible to guarantee the exact colour of the laminate that you will receive, therefore helping if an exact colour is required.

Laminates are available in all sorts of designs and colours, all based on the various available wood floor species. In many of the designs, you can also select such options as bevelled edges, textured finishes, and narrow planks. Many of these options are shown below. We supply and install laminate from Quick-step, Elka, and Tarkett.

We offer a full estimating and installation service for our laminates. We would always recommend that your laminate is professionally fitted, as this will ensure that the manufacturers recommended installation guidelines are followed. We will also supply matching door trims, beading, skirting, radiator pipe covers, and advise you on the best form of underlay for your requirements. As with any smooth flooring, the sub floor that will receive the laminate needs to be reasonably smooth, flat, and dry. Again, we can advise you on the best course of action for your particular needs, and can undertake floor preparation to ensure your laminate lasts as long as possible, and that the manufacturer's guarantee requirements are met. We will also undertake a full moisture check as part of the estimating service.

We recommend ECO-FELT be used as underlay for laminate. This is an environmentally friendly product, and is made without using dyes. It insulates against noise, and is made from 100% Natural products, as opposed to the foam used in most laminate underlay products.
