Coir and Sisal are an alternative to conventional carpet, and are becoming more and more popular due to their distinct appearance and surface texture. All are manufactured as 'loop piles', therefore giving an enhanced visual appearance. They are made of natural products, mostly grasses, and are therefore environmentally friendly. Please ask to see our full selection.
Please note that we recommend you have your Coir or Sisal professionally fitted. We offer a full installation and estimating service for Coir and Sisal. As part of the estimating service we will undertake a moisture check on your floor, as any moisture can effect the flooring in an adverse manner. Please also note that all natural floors will be installed using the Durafit method. This entails fully adhering the crumb underlay to the sub-floor, and then fully adhering the Coir or Sisal to the underlay. This ensures a secure installation.
As Coir and Sisal are natural products, they may contract or expand with changes in temperature and/ or humidity. To this end, we will deliver your flooring at least one week prior to installation. This will allow the product to adjust properly to the ambient atmospheric conditions in your home. We will also need to order the flooring at a size 200mm larger than the room, to allow for shrinkage.
We would recommend that you protect your Coir or Sisal floor with Scotchguard. This will ensure that any stain or spill will not penetrate into the flooring immediately, and give you valuable time to remove the liquid. Scotchguard will also help with the day to day cleaning of dirt and dust. Please request Scotchguard treatment when you purchase your Coir or Sisal.
We can also supply bespoke rugs in all of our Coir and Sisal ranges. These are edged in matching binding, and cut to your required size. Please ask for details of this service.
